Louis Vuitton brings the art of Yayoi Kusama to Milan
The installations inspired by the art of Yayoi Kusama will be exhibited from 13 January to 14 February in Piazza San Babila, a stone's throw from the new Louis Vuitton space in Via Bagutta.
Louis Vuitton chooses Milan to celebrate the second collaboration with the Japanese artist: a stone's throw from the new Louis Vuitton space in Via Bagutta, formerly Garage Traversi , Piazza San Babila becomes the scene of Yayoi Kusama 's installations. The repetitions of polka dots , pumpkins , infinity , accumulation and color are some of the artist's characterizing values.
The flower kiosk adjacent to Via Bagutta is dressed in colorful polka dots, a replica of Kusama's brushstroke. In Piazza San Babila, on the other hand, three imposing pumpkin-shaped sculptures made of fiberglass are positioned on the green hills of the square. For the occasion, the greenery in Piazza San Babila was restored and redeveloped by Louis Vuitton in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan.
