Tips on how to care for the cuticles of the nails so that they are beautiful and do not s

Cuticles of the nails perform a very important function - they protect the nail plates from infections, injuries, water loss. Improper care of them not only spoils the aesthetic image, but can also cause a lot of trouble.

Excessive and improper cutting of cuticles can lead to infection and the onset of various fungal diseases. For this reason, skin trimming is not recommended, and in some US states it is even prohibited. Rather, gently push them away with specially designed manicure sticks. In addition, trimming cuticles promotes their faster growth, so those with fast-growing, thick cuticles should definitely consider an alternative.

Before pushing the skins, it is necessary to soften them. Soak hands for 10 minutes in a bath with salt, glycerin or olive, almond, jojoba oils (or do the procedure immediately after a shower or bath).

After thoroughly drying, apply special emollients to the cuticles.

Use soft, specially designed sticks to push cuticles. Wooden or rubber sticks are usually recommended for soft cuticles, but thick and "stubborn" ones may need metal ones. It is important not to overdo it.

Gently smooth the cuticles around the corners of the nails with a coarser file.

After removing cuticles, moisturize and nourish them with oils, creams or lotions.

In general, cuticles should be treated like a face. Water and feed them regularly (2 times a day) and wean them once a week.

It is important to choose the right tools, to act very gently and to remember basic hygiene rules.

If the cuticles are very problematic, it is worth consulting a specialist doctor. Sometimes they (and nails in general) can be a harbinger of serious diseases and require specific care or even treatment.
