And Just Like That… Carrie wears Vivienne Westwood's wedding dress again
Vivienne Westwood's iconic wedding dress returns to the spotlight in the first episode of the second season of "And Just Like That…"
Originally worn in the 2008 film Sex and the City , the wedding dress was a personal gift from the designer to Carrie following a shoot. “Dear Carrie, I saw your photo in the Vogue shoot. This dress belongs to you! Love, Vivienne Westwood ,” was the text accompanying the designer's handwritten note.
This time, however, the dress is worn for a different occasion, the Met Gala : reinterpreted with long evening gloves and a teal cape, Carrie gives new life to an already worn dress. The same principle is the basis of the New Life service by Vivienne Westwood , which offers the possibility of reusing the Maison's wedding or formal dresses, transforming them with made-to-measure fabrics and finishes.
Appearing for the first time in the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Autumn-Winter 2007/08 "Wake Up Cave Girl" collection, the dress is characterized by pleats and an asymmetrical skirt formed by the overlapping of voluminous layers in ivory duchesse satin.
