On Friday, an anonymous real estate source <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/05/19/jay-z-beyonce-home-purchase-malibu-record-breaking-mansion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told celebrity news site TMZ</a> that the couple bought a Malibu property on the market for $200 million. The architectural estate was officially confirmed as the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/most-expensive-mansion-in-the-world-los-angeles-selling-295-million-dollars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most expensive home</a> ever sold in the state of California &mdash; a home that now belongs to the Knowles-Carter.

The massive 8-acre property spans 30,000 square feet, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando and was built by renowned art collector William Bell &mdash; a project that took 15 years to complete. While the celebrity couple paid $200 million for the mansion, they actually paid significantly less than its original price of $295 million.
Their transaction surpasses the previous record-breaking California home sale of $177 million and is the second most expensive real estate deal in the country, only behind a $238 million New York City apartment. This marks <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/beyonce-and-a-hotel-fairy-tale-like-from-1001-nights-atlantis-the-royal-dubai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Beyonc&eacute; and Jay-Z</a>'s second mansion in the Los Angeles area, as the couple bought a Bel-Air mansion for $88 million back in 2017.

The finalized purchase comes during an already-busy time for the couple, specifically for <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/beyonce-new-hair-care-line-products-brand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Beyonc&eacute;</a>. The singer is in the opening leg of her <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/music/every-beyonce-album-era-from-dangerously-in-love-to-renaissance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Renaissance World Tour</a>, where she's made continuous headlines since opening night.
