Denis Villeneuve is gearing up to shoot the third installment of the Dune saga. According to a report from Deadline , the Canadian director plans to begin shooting the highly anticipated film in the summer of 2025. The team is currently in pre-production and preparations are underway to begin as soon as possible, as early as the summer, provided all the key elements are in place.
"June is too early, but the goal is definitely this summer, provided everything falls into place," Deadline reports, citing multiple well-informed sources.
Dune: Part Two a resounding success
The second installment in the series, Dune: Part Two , grossed over $700 million at the global box office after its release last year. The first two films in the franchise also received Best Picture Oscar nominations, cementing Denis Villeneuve and his team's place at the top of world cinema. This third film will complete the trilogy by adapting Frank Herbert's novel Dune Messiah , a direct sequel to Dune .
