With today's victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Ferrari achieved an extraordinary victory. The Scuderia di Maranello obtained its first success since 1965 and the tenth ever since the race made its debut in car racing way back in 1923. All the credit goes to the trio of drivers Pier Guidi, Calado and Giovinazzi, who brought Ferrari #51 to the finish line in first position. Second place went to the #8 Toyota , driven by Buemi, Hartley and Hirakawa, while third place went to the #2 Cadillac, driven by Bamber, Lynn and Westbrook. "After 50 years we have returned to participate in the top endurance category" said John Elkann after the due celebrations, President of Stellantis "which has marked our history and that of motor sport. We are proud to have brought Italy to the top step of the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, celebrating in the best possible way the centenary of the most important race in the world in the category" . The event lasts 24 consecutive hours - hence the name - during which riders and teams compete to cover the maximum possible distance.
