10 New Movies & TV Shows to Watch in June 2023

Created by Sam Levinson and The Weeknd, The Idol follows the life of a struggling pop star (Lily-Rose Depp) who falls under the spell of a self-help guru/nightclub owner (The Weeknd). The Idol's first two episodes were presented at this year's Cannes Film Festival, but will be released to the public on June 4 on HBO.

Based on a True Story is a new comedy-thriller series coming to Peacock. A married couple (Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina) have let their lives slip away, but they soon encounter an opportunity they can't pass up. Although it involves crime and danger, they take the risk nonetheless.

There is nothing more heartbreaking than a movie about dogs, and yet, here's another must-watch. Reggie (Will Ferrell), a sweet and loyal mutt, is cruely thrown to the streets by his owner Doug (Will Forte). Soon after, Reggie meets a Boston Terrier who helps Reggie find his owner and eventually get revenge.

There has been an everlasting battle between Autobots and Decepticons, but now it's up to the Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons to unite and resolve the tension. Some famous online personalities will be starring in this action film, like Liza Koshy and Pete Davidson. 

Tom Holland, Emmy Rossum, and Amanda Seyfried star in the new psychological thriller The Crowded Room. Danny Sullivan (Holland) has just been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, and, because there is such a stigma around mental illness, people automatically assume he's trouble. Danny is therefore arrested for a crime he didn't commit, and a talented detective is set to find the true criminal before it's too late.

Everyone thought Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) had died in Dhaka, Bangladesh during his last mission — until now. Rake and his team are back and ready for an entirely new adventure. 

Golden Globe winner The Bear is back with a second season, and we couldn't be more excited. Our favorite chefs Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and Sydney (Ayo Edebri) will be in the kitchen once again, planning new and exciting things for the restaurant. Of course, it definitely won't be smooth sailing, but we know Carmy can handle it.

Jennifer Lawrence stars as Maddie in the new comedy-drama, No Hard Feelings. Maddie is desperate to try and save her childhood home, so she finds a rather interesting job listing. Two parents are looking for a woman to date their 19-year-old son before he leaves for college to bring him out of his shell and turn him into a man. Maddie has the challenge of transforming him within one summer.

Starring Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, and Scarlett Johansson, Asteroid City is the highly anticipated science-fiction film produced by Wes Anderson. It takes place in a fictional desert town in 1955 where a "Junior Stargazer and Space Cadets" convention is being hosted. There are three independent storylines that take place throughout the film but are all somehow brilliantly intertwined.

The beloved archaeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is back once again. This time, alongside his goddaughter (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), Jones sets off on an adventure to find a dial that has the power to change world history. During his journey, he encounters Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who works for NASA, and the two battle it out for the dial.
