Moschino blows out 40 candles and at Milan Fashion Week presents " 40 Years of Love " with a theatrical show that unveils the spring summer 2024 collection - created by four friends of the Maison - to create a collection inspired by the iconic models created by Franco Moschino in the period activity, from 1983 to 1993.

A fashion show divided into acts, exactly like the structure of a theatrical play, which reveals the vision of the 4 stylists who composed the collection: Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Lucia Liu and Katie Grand.

Looking forward. not backwards: in the only way that mattered, for Franco

CARLYNE CERF DE DUDZEELE

Interpreting the most loved classics by founder Franco Moschino, Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele's selection brought garments to the catwalk with a chic, sober appearance and the inimitable stylistic signature called Cert Style!.

GABRIELLA KAREFA-JOHNSON

“Let's call it NOWstalgia!” explains stylist Gabriella Karefa-Jhonson in the press note. By reworking the fashion shows of the early 90s, updating the silhouettes, she managed to maintain focus on the energy and strength of her style. While admitting that she learned about Franco's work through the Internet and social media, she reimagined - as an act of love and admiration - Franco's signature cowboy hats, oversized earrings and crocheted dresses. A collection that reflects Moschino's sensibility with a hip-hop vibe.

LUCIA LIU

Romanticism and femininity are Lucia Liu's watchwords for her selection that makes up the third act of the play . Working on layering and mixing the codes of Moschino's cornerstones, from tailoring up to the talking t-shirts bearing Franco's "Protect me from the Fashion System" claim .

KATIE GRAND

" Franco's shows were always conceptual," Grand explains in the press release , "That was the intrinsic fascination they had for me. So I wanted my part of the show to be conceptual too. In all that confusion, everyone has something to say - we often forget that." Katie Grand explores the relevance of Franco Moschino's ideas, paying homage to his philosophy. Moschino used slogans attractively, and Katie creates the new slogan “LOUD LUXURY” to reflect our noisy world. The collection incorporates the physical, gestural and figurative elegance of new designs thanks also to the elite dancers choreographed by Wayne McGregor. Grand wants his portion of the show to be conceptual, remembering that amidst the noise, everyone has something to say.

The show closes with a performance by the violinist Laura Marzadori who sings the song "I am what I am " much loved by Franco Moschino who closed the autumn winter 1986 show. Followed by a parade of t-shirts with slogans to remember the commitment to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and charity in collaboration with The Elton John AIDS Foundation . The limited edition see-now-buy-now t-shirts feature the slogan " BORROW ME", "WEAR ME", "HUG ME", "LOVE ME".
