AMI Paris, Alexandre Mattiussi and the desire for essentiality (with elegance)

The AMI Paris Spring Summer 2024 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Pastel shades illuminated by sequins, contemporary character, French-style and a lot (a lot) of elegance...

Sophisticated, elegant, sensual. Opened by Vincent Cassel and closed by Vittoria Ceretti, the AMI Paris spring summer 2024 show brought a chic and relaxed style to the catwalk. Proportions and cuts recall the 90s, “the years when I fell in love with fashion” creative director Alexandre Mattiussi told us.

The silhouette of the garments follows the line of the body lengthening its shape. The pastel shades - from dull green to beige, from lilac to dusty grey - give the dresses a feeling of calm, broken (deliberately) here and there by the presence of sequins to incorporate the external light on the dresses.
Masculine, feminine and unisex merge - each maintaining a precise identity - to give a contemporary character to the entire collection. And if Alexandre Mattiussi 's goal was to bring AMI Paris back to the essentiality of the debut - minimal and very French, which is what one expects from AMI Paris - he has succeeded (in what was once the temple of fashion shows of the 90s from Helmut Lang to Phoebe Philo, the Tennis Club de Paris) without being trivial or even worse flattened on the concept of quiet luxury.
