From Bridgerton to Euphoria, 2022 served endless fashion moments on the big screen.

Now that we have reached the end of 2022, it seems like the year has flew by. As we look back at all that has happened within the past months, we can reflect on the good things that have arisen from this year. Especially in the world of film and television, 2022 really stepped it up with the amount of entertainment we were given. It’s not just the TV shows and movies themselves that stood out, but the many top fashion moments that helped make 2022 extremely memorable. From the Y2K homage in Do Revenge to the regency-era styles of Bridgerton, here are the best fashion moments of 2022 in film and TV.

Bridgerton Season 2

From its first season, Bridgerton had received rave reviews about the wardrobe that was chosen, and that praise continued on to Season 2. The regency-core clothing has made a huge mark in fashion with the masses having taken a liking to corsets, pearls, opera gloves, empire waist gowns, and ruffles. Bridgerton has opened a door of fantasy so that every time we slip on a floral dress, we can feel like Penelope Featherington herself.

Wednesday

Produced by Tim Burton and starring actors such as Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwendoline Christie, and Christina Ricci, Wednesday was already a highly anticipated show by the time it released on Netflix. However, no one could have guessed how impactful it would be on the world of fashion. If you weren't enamored by Ortega's convincing portrayal of the kooky Wednesday Addams, then you may have been fascinated by Wednesday's signature gothcore aesthetic. Even though many of the episodes featured Wednesday in her Nevermore Academy uniform—which is also a look worth recreating in itself—her other outfits had us all wanting to dress like Wednesday in our day-to-day looks. Among the list of Wednesday's staple pieces are a reinterpreted little black dress, striped blazers, heavy knits, chunky loafers, and sweater vests (all in black and white of course).

The Kardashians

You would think we would get tired of following the glamorous world of the Kardashians, but for some reason, we gladly take anything that they throw our way. In their new show The Kardashians, we are able to get a glimpse into the high fashion world that each family member has complete access to. From Balenciaga to Prada, each episode has graced us with showing off the unique style each member brings to the group.

Emily in Paris Season 3

If there's one thing you can rely on when watching the life of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), it's that she never fails to serve an unexpected look. You would think that after watching two seasons of the show, you would be ready to see what Cooper is going to pull out next from her closet, and yet Season 3 of Emily in Paris was just as fashionably wild and unpredictable as the previous seasons. Amidst her friends and coworkers who have embraced the idea of Parisian chic, Cooper stands out with her bright colors, bold (and arguably questionable) mixing of prints and patterns, and glamorous accessorizing.

Do Revenge

It was impossible to watch Do Revenge and not appreciate the Y2K fashion aesthetic that was prevalent throughout the movie. From the metallic mini dresses to the pastel plaid uniforms to the vibrant floral print, each scene deserves its flowers for the memorable fashion moments it served.

Euphoria Season 2

The experimental fashion of Euphoria has never failed to create a huge impact on its watchers. Even though each character has a completely different style, every individual manages to capture the audience with their unique costume choices. While none of the outfits are exactly school-appropriate, the way the show has disregarded any rules of reality regarding school dress code only makes the show that much more interesting. From Rue’s casual clothes to Maddy’s sultry aesthetic, at the end of each episode Euphoria had viewers wanting to recreate the looks from their own wardrobe.

Inventing Anna

As a woman who pretended to be an extremely wealthy German heiress all to get into the inner circle of the highest of the elite, we were bound to get some jaw-dropping looks in Inventing Anna. Anna Delvey (Julia Garner) was committed to her part and because of that, we got to see the likes of Chanel, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, and Dior to name a few grace the screen. For someone who had not even a dollar to her name, she sure knew how to make a fashion statement, and we’re not mad at it.

Not Okay

In Not Okay starring Zoey Deutch, the film’s wardrobe was a clear ode to the fashion of Gen Z. The TikTok-inspired clothing, the two-toned hair, the beaded phone charm strap, the butterfly clips—Deutch looked as if she was pulled straight out of early 2021. While you couldn’t help but cringe at the outdated fashion, there was also a level of nostalgia to the whole ensemble. Considering everything Deutch sported used to be considered the look just barely a year ago, looking at the film’s fashion was like taking a trip down memory lane. While it’s for the best that we leave the micro-trend clothing in the past, it was still a fun moment to enjoy the style as we watched the movie.

Don't Worry Darling

For some watchers, the best part of Don’t Worry Darling was that “it felt like a movie.” For others, it was the '50s-inspired costumes that we couldn’t get enough of. As Florence Pugh and Harry Styles embraced their lives in their suburban utopia, it was the New Look dresses, vintage floral prints, and color-blocked button-ups that were the real joy. Thankfully we don’t have to be stuck in a simulation to try out the vintage looks for ourselves.

Blonde

In a movie about the late Marilyn Monroe, standout fashion moments were inevitable. While the film itself received mixed reviews, there was an agreed consensus that the costume choices were nothing less than perfection. Ana De Armas really pulled off the essence of Monroe as she sported some of the most iconic looks of the blonde bombshell. Said looks included the vibrant pink dress from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and the renowned white pleated dress from Seven Year Itch.

Stranger Things Season 4

For a show that took place in the ‘80s, Stranger Things did a wonderful job of portraying an accurate depiction of the versatile style from that era. With wardrobe choices such as Eleven’s flannel shirts and Eddie Munson's graphic tees, the show perfectly captured ‘80s fashion while still staying true to the characters. With all the chaos that ensued throughout the show, it was impressive to see it provide some serious fashion inspiration along the way.

House Of The Dragon

While we’re not exactly running to buy the first medieval dress we see, no one can deny that the costumes in House Of The Dragon played a big part in the show’s success. The elaborate wardrobe of each character served as an extension of a greater meaning such as the black colors of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) versus the green colors donned by Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke). With Season 2 confirmed, it will be interesting to see how the styling evolves as the civil war commences.
