The tender daily life of Bottega Veneta at MFW
Creative director Matthieu Blazy questions whether we can “find power in gentleness” for his Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
It is a collection full of tenderness that Matthieu Blazy proposes for the spring-summer 2025 season of Bottega Veneta . The inspiration: what the world could be like if it were not adults but children who organized it. This idea welcomes guests, with Sacco seats by Zanotta that transform for the occasion into animals — rabbit, hen, panda, ladybug or snake. Accessories and clothing also reveal a child's soul with woven leather flowers emerging from bags, or even crumpled shirt T-shirts. Breaking with "conventional sophistication, the child plays at being an adult" , explains Matthieu Blazy . “As a child, there is the adventure of the everyday,” the creative director continues, “the feeling that anything can happen, even if it is fantastic, and that we are not as bound by normal expectations and conventions. The door is open to the possibility of unusual realities and wonder, of impossible scenarios that do not admit disappointment. This is the power of sincerity over strategy.”
