Sunwoo Kim, Zhou Li and Sophie Kitching revisit Bulgari's Serpenti bag

To celebrate the deep connection between the mythical snake and the world of art, Bulgari is launching a capsule collection of Serpenti Forever handbags born from the collaboration with three contemporary artists, Sunwoo Kim, Zhou Li and Sophie Kitching. Each bag is offered in a limited series of 75 pieces.

To celebrate Serpenti's 75th anniversary, Bulgari unveils a capsule collection of bags designed by 3 contemporary artists.

Thus the Chinese artist Zhou Li , whose work ranges from painting to sculpture via installations, reinvents the handle of the Serpenti Forever by making it more arty. Named "Ocean", the first creation - in blue and pink tones - is inspired by the artist's series of paintings Landscape of Nowhere: Water and Dreams , which focuses on the theme of freedom and hope. Inspired by another famous series by the artist called "Spring", the second interpretation, Forest, celebrates the power of nature and its infinite circle of life.

For his part, Korean painter Sunwoo Kim - famous for his birds - delivered his "Day" version of the Serpenti Forever Top Handle bag, an imaginary forest with embossed green leaves, while the snake's head clasp is adorned with a rich palette of greens. The "Night" version represents an immersion in a nocturnal landscape, dotted with eight-pointed stars emblematic of Bulgari.

Finally, American artist Sophie Kitching also delivered her two versions of the Serpenti Forever handbag, focusing on the duality of the snake and its infinite power of transformation. "Invisible Green" echoes his own series of paintings, and then presents the same myriad of colors, petals and leaves. Motifs inspired by nature also animate the artist's second model, which is inspired by his own painting "Nocturne". Here, the bewitching contrast between the intense colors and the black calfskin background allude to the mysterious shapes and the metamorphosis of the snake.

An NFT experience has been associated with each bag, exploring through high technology the different themes developed by the artists. Six three-dimensional videos - one for each model - give each owner exclusive access to a digital universe dedicated to their own handbag.
