Callista, the Greek bag brand that has won over celebrities
Sofia Ritchie, Katherine Schwarzenegger and Arizona Muse have recently been spotted with their Callista bag.
Founded in 2013 by Eleni Konstantinidou and Celia Sigalou, Callista Crafts designs elegant and versatile bags that reflect the richness of Greek cultural heritage while meeting the desires of the modern woman. The duo complements each other well: Eleni Konstantinidou brings a creative vision and team spirit that infuses Callista with an inclusive and innovative dynamic, while Celia Sigalou provides clear strategic direction and leadership, steering the brand towards a bold future.
All bags are handmade using Greek artisanal techniques in their workshop in Kifisia, north of Athens, from premium Italian leather, hand-cut and assembled by a team of 25 artisans (mostly women). Special attention is paid to details, including the handle, which is adorned with a hand-knotted leather cord, a technique patented by the brand. This method requires considerable expertise and patience, with each bag requiring over three hours of meticulous work and 25 meters of leather.
Since its inception, Callista has experienced impressive growth, going from distributing accessories in luxury boutiques in Greece to an international presence, with prestigious collaborations including Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus and Bongenie Grieder. The brand has become a cult classic among insiders and celebrities, and the first boutique outside Greece has just opened its doors at 79 rue des Saints-Pères in Paris, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
