“In this collection, I was fascinated by the A-line silhouette of Yves Saint Laurent, because it somehow recalls a little girl’s dress,” says creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri of the spring summer 2025 haute couture collection, referring to Yves Saint Laurent’s “Trapèze” collection for the House in 1958. “This silhouette is much more constructed and incorporates elements that are not part of my usual language, but that I wanted to rework with a completely new approach.”

The location, this time, was decorated with the works of art of the Mumbai artist Rithika Merchant, reproduced as a backdrop on embroidered panels by the artisans of the ateliers and the Chanakya School of Craft. In the front row, the stars faithful to the French Maison: Jisoo of Blackpink, Jenna Ortega, Nicola Coughlan, Anya Taylor-Joy, Carla Bruni, Deva Cassel and Pamela Anderson.

Maria Grazia Chiuri 's spring summer 2025 haute couture women's show reveals an in-depth study of the founder's "Line A" silhouette, with plays on proportions, transparencies and cage crinolines that open like flowers, thus building a precious storytelling with almost surreal hints. Bodices that dissolve into fringes, dresses that structure volumes on the shoulders with en-gigot sleeves, capes covered with refined feathers, precious ruffs and panniers that revisit the female body. "I think childhood should be rediscovered, because it is a very formative part of our existence ," says Chiuri, "I believe that anyone who wants to do creative work must look with the surprised eyes of someone who has never seen, to create elements that are a bit dreamy."

First the men's collection presented by Kim Jones a few days ago, developed around the "H Line" by Christian Dior, and now, the haute couture by Maria Grazia Chiuri that takes the Maison's historic silhouettes as a starting point. Coincidences? Maybe. But this dance between past and present, Maria Grazia Chiuri reminds us that fashion is not only a creative act, but a bridge between emotion and memory. This collection invites us to look at the world with eyes, rediscovering the wonder of childhood with the ability to make us dream.
