Dior has launched its latest collection in India, full of colour and elegance
Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of the fashion house "Dior" in 2023. this time chose India as the starting point for the pre-autumn collection.
The new Dior models were inspired by Indian culture, traditional country clothes and colours, and the fashion show was held in the largest city of India, Mumbai. Designer MG Chiuri collaborated with Karishma Swali, founder and artistic director of Chanakya Atelier and non-profit Chanakya School of Crafts in Mumbai, to create the collection.
"I am extremely grateful to Maria for her advice, friendship and generosity. Today, respecting India and its culture and crafts, I am full of emotions and very proud of all our artisans, without whom this impressive spectacle would not have happened", Karishma Swali was happy with the joint work on the day of the collection presentation.
The designer paid tribute to Marc Bohan, the longtime creative director of the Dior fashion house, with dresses and ensembles of seductive silk in bright colors. Fruity green, yellow accents, rich pink, purple and ultramarine blue - brightly colored models, both daytime and luxurious evening, flew on the catwalk. Sophisticated capes and straight silhouette skirts were inspired by saris and traditional Indian cuts. This fashion show is like an impressive creative odyssey, crossing borders and different eras, connecting different cultures and uniting talents.
