Dolce & Gabbana returns to their origins for spring 2024 in Milan
Dolce&Gabbana confirm the desire to return to the origins: between lace, bustier, garters and suits with sexy side slits. A cast of super models from Vittoria Ceretti to Maria Carla Boscano, passing through Irina Shayk and Natasha Poly. A sinuous Naomi Campbell closes the show and the audience loses their minds.
The Dolce&Gabbana spring summer 2024 collection is called Woman. And it is precisely with super women that the catwalk of the women's fashion show of the famous duo formed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana was populated. Among them: Vittoria Ceretti, Maria Carla Boscano, Irina Shayk, Ashley Graham, Natasha Poly, Stella Maxell, Mouna Tougard and Naomi Campbell.
The tailoring, the shapes, the proportions, the black and white, the artfully cut fabrics are what characterise another dive into the rich history of the Italian maison which dialogues with the Sicilian roots, made of black and lace, transparencies and well-made underwear in sight, and on the other the oversized pinstriped men's jackets that entered history in the 90's, when Veronica Ciccone, alias Madonna, was one of the first to wear them.
The iconic "Dolce Jacket", screwed on the hips, is offered in three versions: short, medium and long, and is combined with skirts of the same length characterised by deep side slits from which Parisian dresses and garters with golden hooks emerge. The tuxedo jacket also becomes a mini-dress, thanks to a fastening under the armpit, from which a lingerie body emerges.
Poised between seduction and rigor, white and polka dots appear, on fluttering and transparent dresses with contrasting schoolgirl collars, which have Victorian echoes and then the total white of a bride in a white satin bustier with a long flowing train, already spotted in the red version on top model Maria Carla Boscano at the Venice Film Festival and the tailored outerwear, with pronounced shoulders and impeccable cut.
After the black and white mix, comes another great classic: the leopard animalier. In Spring Summer 2024 there is a place for vinyl trench coats, and transparent and revealing overcoats. What do they cover? In reality, little or nothing, but that's the beauty of it. Closing the show is Naomi, who sends the audience into a tizzy with her transparent bustier dress and her unmistakable stride.
