Erdem Pays Homage to Maria Callas in the Pre-Fall 2024 Collection
Erdem's Pre-Fall 2024 collection delves into the poise of the opera singer who mesmerized the world with her voice, intertwining with the aesthetic virtuosity of Erdem Moralioglu.
Inspired by soprano Maria Callas, the Pre-Fall 2024 collection presented by Erdem Moralioglu celebrates the female figure by examining the complex character of women. Her off-stage personal life of tragedy and insecurity is transformed into structure and drapery, tailoring and organic shapes are combined and contrasted to intriguing effect. We find silhouettes from the late '50s and '60s: cocooning shapes, dresses with boat necks and felted coats with voluminous backs.
Erdem's women's Pre-Fall collection focuses on the austerity and playfulness of monastic dresses while incorporating extra-large bows, capes with jewel-encrusted shoulders, cloqué dresses and a lá duchesse with bustiers that show the more sculptural side of the woman's body. Floral motifs, pictorial prints, embroidery and draping continue Erdem Moralioglu's aesthetic journey in a perfect mix of theatricality, royalty and fun.
