Every Look From Fendi Spring/Summer 2023
Watch out Bottega Veneta—there's a new green in town.
Since taking the helm of Fendi's womenswear, Kim Jones has made a point of looking to the archives and taking inspiration from previous Fendi collections, particularly those under Karl Lagerfeld's creative direction. For the Maison's Spring/Summer 2023 collection, Jones stuck to the same path.
“It’s about continuity,” says Jones. “I am interested in looking at things that Karl has done, and seeing how we can develop them – both visually and technically.”
Similar to the Fall/Winter 2022 collection, this season's new parade of garments embraces a more pastel color palette, with special notice given to the fierce lime green, electric pink, and cornflower blue. Across textures and silhouettes, it's the vibrancy of the collection that makes an impression just as much as Fendi's consistent impeccable craftsmanship and tailoring.
Another standout piece from the collection is the Peekaboo bag split in half. “At Fendi, I am constantly thinking about practicality as well as luxury,” says Jones. “Adding heavy
hardware to something very soft both gives it real functionality and makes it interesting.”
