“It’s Always Burberry Weather: London in Love”, a love story in the rain

The new Burberry campaign, inspired by British romantic comedies, mixes love, rain and iconic trench coats for summer 2025.

Burberry unveils its summer 2025 campaign, titled It's Always Burberry Weather: London in Love . A true British love story is brought to life through the House's cinematic lens, showcasing the humor, optimism and, of course, unpredictability of London 's fickle weather.

Daniel Lee , Creative Director of Burberry , explains: "This is a 'Burberry love story' brought to life through the cinematic lens of this campaign. It's about the humour, the optimism and, of course, the unpredictability of our great British weather." A vision full of freshness and lightness that is perfectly reflected in this summer campaign.

A tribute to British rom-coms of the 90s and 2000s

To mark the launch of the new campaign, Burberry is presenting a series of seven films inspired by beloved British romantic comedies of the 1990s and early 2000s. The films explore the everyday romances of ordinary Londoners, with familiar plots and playful dialogue. The urban fairytale world of love, everyday life and rain is brought to life by a stellar cast. The film stars Oscar winner Kate Winslet, alongside Aimee Lou Wood, Chen Kun, Jodie Turner-Smith, Micheal Ward, Nicholas Hoult, Richard E. Grant, Son Sukku , and models David Gandy, Liu Wen and Naomi Campbell . A Burberry knight also appears in a role – silent but chivalrous, in a nod to the House’s heritage and logo.

The iconic trench coat revisited for summer

The campaign celebrates the trench coat’s long and prestigious history, while reimagining the iconic style for the summer season. The films blend romantic clichés with the fickleness of British weather, providing a seamless transition into Burberry ’s innovative approach to all-weather dressing . The designs fuse heritage with contemporary style, with a range of seasonal trenches alongside bold new silhouettes for summer 2025.

A celebration that continues in stores

The campaign is not limited to the films, but also includes new in-store installations. Inspired by the Summer 2025 collection, Burberry ’s windows resonate with a joyful celebration of the London summer. Clusters of wisteria and pastel flowers adorn the stores, recalling the way they bloom in the city’s backstreets. These floral arrangements are enhanced by light limestone cladding that evokes London’s historic architecture, while reflecting the colours and textures seen in the collection.

The collection's key pieces

The Burberry trench coat remains the perfect companion for all seasons. Created by Thomas Burberry in 1879, the revolutionary gabardine fabric continues to be the foundation of the brand’s designs. Rain-resistant, lightweight and breathable, it offers year-round versatility, which is why it remains a staple of Burberry rainwear and British wardrobes.

The Heritage collection of trenches and coats features gabardine woven at the Burberry Mill in Keighley, Yorkshire, and lined with the iconic Check cotton . New designs include the Castleford Trench, reworked in a lighter gabardine and a partial lining that’s perfect for summer.

Iconic elements of the house inspire new silhouettes: trench coats reimagined as clean jackets in bonded cotton, flowing silk dresses and shirts adorned with Burberry Check patterned bands. A sense of lightness runs throughout the collection, with classic styles cropped, draped or decorated with cut-outs and zips for added flexibility. Lightweight jackets build on the brand’s heritage of textile innovation, updating the Prince of Wales check with a three-layer wool fabric and weaving silk viscose with the Burberry Check.

This summer 2025 campaign reaffirms Burberry 's place as an innovative House, a pillar of the British wardrobe and an emblem of timeless style, despite the vagaries of the weather.
