This season, Simon Porte Jacquemus has drawn on his personal memories to imagine a collection that pays tribute to Lady Diana, notably by revisiting her dress codes, with a few allusions to Marie-Antoinette all the same. Couture influences and period outfits are then deconstructed and then transcribed through the contemporary prism of Jacquemus.

Here the lingerie is apparent, the volumes exaggerated, the theatrical sleeves. Thus we come across babydolls of delicate lace touching the skin, cut-out crinolines, gathered panties and peplum tops, but also fleece jackets and hoods in a style inspired by the scrunchie. There is also a bubble dress embroidered with metallic flowers inspired by Peau d'Âne, a very boudoir transparent slip dress . The Met Gala backless suit returns to define men's looks, bringing a modern, sensual and assertive touch to the red carpet. A hand-embroidered coat of pearly threads refers to the pistils and the wardrobe of the castle gardeners.

Everywhere, details evoke Lady Diana, both daring and elegant. A restrained color palette, focused on white, highlighting vibrant red, the black of a revenge dress , or even the pale pink of an English rose. Net, graphic patterns of great softness; stripes on knitwear and polka dots sewn here and there, as if suspended, on suits and shirts.

Emrata, David & Victoria Beckham, Laetitia Casta, Monica Bellucci, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Amina Muaddi and Claire Foy, among others, were there. Check out the pictures from the parade below.
