Jacquemus opens its first store on Avenue Montaigne

After a presence in several corners and points of sale around the world, Jacquemus has established itself among the biggest by taking up residence on the famous Avenue Montaigne.

Today, September 27, 2022, Jacquemus opens its doors to "La Boutique Montaigne", the brand's brand new boutique concept. Located on one of the largest shopping streets in the world, at 58 Avenue Montaigne , the boutique spans two floors of a building constructed in the early 20th century with Art Deco features . Designed in-house, the boutique builds on Simon's recent "Le Papier" show, presented in Arles , where he explored linen throughout the collection.

We thus find a shop between purity and playfulness : all dressed in ecru, sublimating the pieces and accessories left in the eyes of visitors, also having fun with pop culture references like extra-large popcorn machines . The concept is intended to be ephemeral but over a longer period than its previous pop-ups (here, until 2023), the space will offer a series of themes for a minimum of five months. The first theme is "Ceremony" , a selection of key pieces from the "Paper" related to wedding ceremonies .

For this first part, linen appears as an essential feature of the design, while other obsessions are expressed with restraint and naivety. Simon brings his artistic touch to plaster lockers inspired by Giacometti and a mirror that references a round and square shape by Pierre Cardin . Bespoke ceramics contribute to the décor and reinforce her love of craftsmanship. His collector's spirit is manifested by a sculpture by Maurice Carlier, a set of surrealist furniture by Klaas Gubbels, lounge chairs by Bernard Govin, "Le Bambole" by Mario Bellini, and a photo by Erwin Wurm. The ceramic hardware was made by "Les Céramistes", who worked around the concept of the iconic "round/square" shape , Jacquemus' signature, by creating ceramics inlaid with linen. Artist Mathilde Nivet was commissioned to create lemon paper trees, as a reference for the designer's latest collection.
