Jonathan Anderson will design the costumes for the new Luca Guadagnino film
The designer will dress Daniel Craig in Guadagnino 's upcoming film, Queer , based on the short story by William S. Burroughs.
It was at the beginning of 2023 that the news fell: Luca Guadagnino is (again) calling on the talents of Jonathan Anderson for his next film. After having already dressed Zendaya and Josh O'Connor for his film Challengers, the Italian director is repeating the experience for the film adaptation of Queer — a short story by William S. Burroughs, written between 1951 and 1953, which was not released officially only in 1985.
The story, many elements of which are autobiographical, is about an American expatriate in Mexico, Lee (played by Daniel Craig), coming to terms with his doubts and insecurities. The protagonist falls in love with a young Marine named Allerton, modeled after a real-life character, Adelbert Lewis Marker.
If we can't wait to see what the casting, the film and the costumes have in store for us, we will have to wait a little longer because the project's release date is not specified and would probably still be in the pre-production phase.
