Kate Middleton wears Queen Elizabeth II pearls
Kate Middleton paid tribute to the late monarch during Remembrance Day
Last weekend, the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance was celebrated, a ceremony dedicated to the day the Allies and Germany signed the armistice that ended World War I in 1918 in Europe. Members of the royal family participated to honor all the lives lost in that terrible combat, includingKate Middleton , who wore Queen Elizabeth II pearls in honor of the monarch who died in September.
The Princess of Wales accompanied her husband, Prince William, who was tasked with laying a wreath on an empty tomb representing the war's losses. For the event, she looked elegant in an all-black look and a wide-brimmed black hat. But what really caught our attention were the jewelry chosen by Kate on the occasion: a set of pearl earrings from the Queen's Bahrain, which were a gift to then-Princess Elizabeth at her wedding to Prince Philip in 1947.
Later, when she took off her coat, we could see that Kate was actually wearing another very famous piece of jewelry from the royal collection: her Japanese Pearl Choker necklace. The piece was originally commissioned by the Queen herself, consisting of four strands of pearls given to her by the Japanese government with a central diamond clasp.
