LGN's (creepy but chic) serial killers
LGN's fall winter 2023-24 collection is magnetic. "American Psycho" takes to the catwalk.
After a spring summer 2023 inspired by "Dangerous Liaisons" by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, for the autumn winter 2023-24 collection Louis Gabriel Nouchi draws inspiration from "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis. Opening the fashion show in the role played by Christian Bale in the film adaptation made by Mary Harron was Lucas Bravo , famous for his role as Gabriel in the now cult Netflix series Emily in Paris . The face stained with blood as in a very famous scene from the film is framed by a coat that rethinks the formalwear of the 80s and 90s.
The wardrobe designed by LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi for autumn winter 2023-24 plays everything on this revival of shoulder pads, waistline, drapes very dear to fashion at the turn of the 80s and 90s. Designed starting from a monochromatic palette that celebrates black, it allows for some - few - variations on the theme: blood red, light blue, milky white.
LGN draws an aesthetic imaginary at times disturbing, which quotes, dissecting it, the book chosen as a source of inspiration for this collection. Axes, stilettos and chainsaws peep out on the catwalk hidden under adherent latex drapes. The latex looks further presage being in the presence of a gruesome crime scene. A kinky chic twist is always around the corner with LGN, with some builds, faces (and moustaches!) more reminiscent of Fassbinder's "Querelle de Brest" than Harron's "American Psycho."
