Marni Autumn Winter 2025 - Underground Charm and Haute Couture
Art, tailoring and underground culture in a collection born from the collaboration between creative director Francesco Risso and artists Slawn and Soldier. A story of transformation and creative experimentation.
Born from the collaboration between creative director Francesco Risso and Nigerian artists Slawn and Soldier , Marni unveils its autumn winter 2025-2026 collection during the second day of Milan Fashion Week . The project, called “The Pink Sun” , is the result of a month-long artistic residency in London, where the three combined their experience with historical influences and the energy of underground culture.
Titled “The Salon,” the show transformed the Marni headquarters into an improvised jazz club, creating the atmosphere of a Milanese bar, a bit Jamaica, a bit Caffè degli Artisti. Among the models who walked the runway, actress Tracee Ellis Ross - Golden Globe winner for her performances in Black-ish - wore a yellow pop art-style dress. “An explosion of sunshine,” as she herself described the dress, backstage at the end of the show.
Sculptural and fairy-tale elements are a key part of this collection, which explores the transformative power of the creative process. Large-scale painted flowers decorate tailored suits, sculptural sweaters evoke fantastical figures and wool coats feature cocoon-like back closures.
Francesco Risso describes the collection as a “seed bank”, a fertile ground for future creations, with the aim of preserving the essence of Marni through continuous evolution, shaped by many hands. “It’s time for reflection”, he says, “It’s time to preserve”.
