Meet Seán McGirr, the Newly Appointed Creative Director of Alexander McQueen

Kering has announced that Seán McGirr will be the new creative director of Alexander McQueen.

After saying goodbye with the Anatomy II collection by Sarah Burton - who has been the creative director of Alexander McQueen for many years - Kering has announced that the new creative director to take the reins of the British brand will be Seán McGirr.

Born in Dublin, graduated like the founder Lee Alexander McQueen from Central Saint Martins in London (where he obtained a Master of Arts in Fashion in 2014) he will be at the creative direction of the British British brand after having held the role of head of ready-to- wear by JW Anderson . He began his career as an assistant at Burberry and Vogue Hommes Japan, then from 2014 to 2018 he worked in the creative offices of Uniqlo in Tokyo and Paris working in the menswear department together with Christophe Lemaire, and then also started the Antwerp school at Dries Van Noten as women's designer. In 2020 he began his work experience alongside Jonathan Anderson, directing the men's collections and subsequently also integrating the women's division and now Pinault's Kering group is calling him on board
