Maya Haute Couture, the Moncler jacket interpreted by Giambattista Valli
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary celebrations, Moncler launches Moncler Maya 70 Collaborations. And enlist Giambattista Valli for an überluxury reinterpretation of his iconic down jacket.
A marriage of urbanwear and haute couture, celebrated on the Italy-France trajectory. On the occasion of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the iconic Maya jacket , Moncler is launching the Moncler Maya 70 Collaborations project calling on seven different designers to create as many reinterpretations of the down jacket that has entered the contemporary history of costume. And the fifth collaboration of the path is with Giambattista Valli. Roman by birth but Parisian by adoption, Valli launched his eponymous brand in 2005 exploring the ready-to-wear arena; while in 2011 he showed his first couture collection. And it is precisely his deep connection with high fashion that guided the creation of Moncler Maya 70 by Giambattista Valli. « I stretched and narrowed the Maya, while feathers are the first element I thought of as a common denominator between my aesthetic and the essence of Moncler. I don't consider them simple decorations, but rather a material that clouds the space that surrounds it» , explained the couturier, who has reinterpreted the Maya duvet in a longue saison version (for lightness and versatility) covering it with aerial plumage. Two special muses tell the story of the project: the socialite and model Bianca Brandolini and the DJ, producer and electronic musician Honey Dijon. «Bianca and Honey are two great souls and constant inspirations in my life and in my work. Both represent being a woman in a sublime way, each in a unique and different way» .
