Proenza Schouler opens NYFW with women's spring summer 2025 show
New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off, with Proenza Schouler. The women's spring summer 2025 creations by Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough hit the runway. Special guests were Ella Emhoff, Emily Ratajkowski and Devon Lee Carlson who made her first modeling debut for the American brand.
The creative duo from New York, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez , know how to capture the spotlight. Opening New York Fashion Week - but officially all the September women's fashion weeks - after celebrating their twentieth anniversary with their latest show, Proenza Schouler takes us back to the discovery of experimental American style, focusing on textures, colors and prints, without forgetting the craftsmanship of the brand. At the women's spring summer 2025 show , there are references to the creative practice of American abstract artist Barnett Newman , fringes galore, asymmetries that contrast minimal symmetries, check patterns and stripes stolen from nautical clothing and positioned on knitwear designed with stripes.
Proenza Schouler's minimalist aesthetic takes on character, with metal eyelets, buttons that become contrasting jewel details, technical fabrics and frayed organza skirts. Feminine leather dresses are tied at the waist with a draped bow, trench coats feature funnel collars that can be closed with belts, dresses with prints that are printed all over and a hint of hyper-tight or oversized tailoring. Among the brand's new entries for bags are the Tate Tote, the Tetra shoulder bag and the Silo bag.
Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough propose a personal interpretation of the female wardrobe that ranges across all product categories. A story of intellectual femininity, capable of daring, that maintains the class and charm of the Proenza Schouler woman.
