Will You Be Wearing Bows This Christmas?

Never like this year have bows generated a real women's and men's fashion trend for the autumn winter 2023-24 season. From Celine, Jacquemus and Chanel up to MSGM, Valentino and Simone Rocha.

The fashion shows and collections for women and men have established that this year we will not only find bows on Christmas packages. Positioning themselves among the trends of winter 2023-24 , this year braided ribbons have become a real decorative ornament used by stylists and creative directors for male and female looks perfect for celebrating the 2023 holiday season. Buttonholes and pigtails that distinguish the bows are juxtaposed with looks, but also with make up as in the case of Simone Rocha's autumn winter 2023-24 men's and women's fashion show , which reconfirms the bow element as a distinctive trademark of his creative practice.

With Valentino 's ready-to-wear collection, Pierpaolo Piccoli brings to the stage deconstructed dresses with bow ties, large bows that structure tops or cut-out dresses closed on the sides with bows. The bold proposals by Thom Browne and Viktor&Rolf also stand out, the former with a tailored pinstriped version and the latter with a provocative and feminine variant. Virginie Viard at Chanel proposes a bride with a bow detail on the décolleté, Massimo Giorgetti at MSGM presents a lemon yellow pop look, while Gigi Hadid - protagonist of the Le Chouchou fashion show - wears the super-sexy proposal by Jacquemus.

The interpretation of the men's fashion trend is less conventional. Starting from simple bows made with scarves as in the case of Etro and Officine Générale we arrive at more important interpretations of the bow such as that of Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello which brings literally bow-tied men onto the catwalk. Flagship - and we should say "flagship" - for Benjamin A. Huseby and Serhat Işık of GMBH who with their clubwear vision bring to the catwalk a tailored dress made up of a large bow.
