Undercover: The simplicity of everyday life for autumn/winter 24

In the background, in an almost hypnotic way, the German writer and filmmaker Wim Wenders lends his voice and his writing. As the silhouettes of the Undercover autumn-winter 2024-25 show are revealed, the artist reads his poem Watching a Working Woman and serves as the soundtrack. Throughout the lyrics, we listen to the simple description of a typical day for a young woman — from the moment she wakes up to the moment she goes to bed. Outfits can be messy but still warm — through a delicate play of colours and textures. We find a baguette bag that accompanies her to the bakery, flowers levitating in a plastic bag or a yoga mat carried on the shoulder. The outfits sail between trompe l'oeil effects, materials and surprising proportions - jeans are not afraid to pair with cardigans, sweatshirts, cozy knitted sweaters, structured peacoats, airy veils, business then casual styles, even sparkling fringes golden, bronze and a precious shimmering black. All the elements of this simplex wardrobe, of an independent and dreaming woman, seem to have been laid out, assembled, merged - ranging from the most practical looks of waking up, to the most daring, as if from dreams that we dare to barely imagine.
