UNIQLO Appoints Clare Waight Keller as Creative Director
After a successful collaboration with the brand last year, Clare Waight Keller is now taking the reins of UNIQLO from autumn/winter 2024.
Known for her work at Chloé and then Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller is changing gears by taking over as creative director of UNIQLO. “I was extremely impressed by the importance of the innovation department and the exceptional products designed,” she said after working for two years on a collaboration with the brand . “I became deeply immersed in the brand and its visionary dimension. It is very exciting and an honor for me to be involved in the evolution of the LifeWear philosophy.”
For his part, Tadashi Yanai, founder of UNIQLO, was delighted with his choice. “In addition to her exceptional creative approach and vast experience, I was impressed by her precise sense of balance that never forgets the customer’s point of view,” he commented. “I believe that with her, we will be able to evolve UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy into something even deeper and create clothes that will make our customers even happier.”
Clare Waight Keller will also lead UNIQLO’s core collection, including menswear, starting in autumn/winter 2024.
