Gianfranco Ferr&eacute; was born in Legnano on August 15, 1944, and was one of the greatest - as well as appreciated - exponents of Made in Italy . Having graduated in 1969 in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic , with a thesis in Methodology of the approach to composition , Gianfranco Ferr&eacute; began to approach the world of fashion starting from accessories. Among the many, during his career Ferr&egrave; collaborated with Walter Albini and Christiane Bailly . Albini has always been considered one of the founding fathers of pr&ecirc;t-&agrave;-porter , starting to conceive fashion no longer as an exclusive and elitist process, but rather within everyone's reach, commercial, and which aims &nbsp; to inclusiveness. Gianfranco Ferr&egrave; has always respected elegance, and his vision of fashion has never been tainted by any form of ostentation . 1978 is the year in which he founded Gianfranco Ferr&egrave; Spa , which a few years later will see a profound expansion into women's fashion, men's fashion, accessories, fragrances, ready-to-wear and couture.
Ferr&egrave; loved young people very much, and in fact during his career he held many fashion lessons in the best universities around the world, becoming President of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan in 2007.
