The best dressed men in Met Gala history

The first Monday in May has given us unforgettable fashion moments for decades. And even if women's fashion is the protagonist of the most followed social event of the year, men's looks - especially in the last decade - have also been able to capture the attention of fashion lovers.

Between those who choose to climb the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with extreme elegance like Valentino Garavani and those who choose to adhere to a decidedly more maximalist approach, like Jared Leto (complete with head in hand, look designed by Alessandro Michele then creative director of Gucci ) or Lil Nas , the Over the decades, Costume Institute Gala has also become a perfect showcase for men's fashion. If until the first half of the 2000s they had to strictly stick to a formal dress code, in the last decade men have also expressed their vision of fashion to the fullest, often challenging conventions and broadening the perspective of what can and cannot be worn. As in the case of Bad Bunny Gilded Age version or Alton Mason marries Chanel . And how can we not mention the looks worn by Marc Jacobs - who showed up at the 2012 Met Gala in a lace dress and said: "I just didn't want to wear a tuxedo and be boring" - or John Galliano .
