My name is Francesco Scotti.
My work revolves around fashion photography, but I also express myself as an artist and creative director.
I call both Ibiza and Dubai home, as I spend most of my time between the two. However, I have learned to find home within myself and in my imaginary world, no matter where I am.
I first discovered Ibiza in June 2023.
My initial visit to the island was spontaneous. A group of friends invited me to stay for a week, and it happened by chance rather than as a planned trip.
My first impression of Ibiza was an overwhelming sense of freedom and self-expression. It felt like a place where you could truly be yourself, without judgement, offering pure liberation.
Upon touchdown, I immediately sensed there was something special about this place. It was intangible, yet undeniably present in the air. Ibiza possesses a unique energy that sets it apart from anywhere else.
The island is undoubtedly a source of inspiration for me. In terms of my work, Ibiza continues to shape my creative approach, encouraging me to embrace a wilder, freer side and to focus on what genuinely brings me joy. It refines my vision and reminds me that life does not always have to be so complicated.
Every project I have worked on since discovering Ibiza has been touched by its influence in some way. For that reason, all my most recent works carry inspiration from the island.
What I find most compelling about Ibiza’s artistic and cultural scene is its remarkable ability to bring together like-minded individuals. The island attracts a dynamic mix of artists, musicians and performers from around the world, creating a unique and ever-evolving cultural fusion. It is also becoming an important hub for local artists, blending elements of its rich history with contemporary influences. What fascinates me most is the growing spiritual and wellness movement. There is a genuine sense of awakening here. The emphasis on organic farming and sustainable living makes Ibiza even more special.
One place on the island that I find particularly inspiring is Sa Caleta. I have spent a lot of time there, and for me, it is the perfect combination of Sa Caleta Beach, the surrounding forest and the peaceful embarcaderos. It is a place where nature, tranquillity and creativity merge seamlessly.
Ibiza’s culture and lifestyle have taught me invaluable lessons. The island has shown me the importance of balance, freedom and living with intention. It encourages self-discovery and fosters a deeper appreciation for the present moment.
Spending time in Ibiza has given me a profound sense of belonging. There is something about the island’s energy that makes me feel at home, no matter how far I have travelled.
Certain sensory experiences in Ibiza evoke strong emotions within me. The scent of rosemary in the forest, the salty sea air on a windy winter day, and the taste of Hierbas Ibicencas all bring back vivid memories and deep feelings connected to the island.
Whenever I leave Ibiza, I feel at peace, knowing the island will always be there when I return. It is a place that stays with me, no matter where I go.
