The February 6 earthquake that has decimated parts of Turkey and Syria continues to claim lives. As of 26 February 2023, more than 51,100 deaths have been confirmed: more than 44,300 in Turkey, and more than 6,700 in Syria. It is the deadliest natural disaster in Turkey's modern history and the damaged roads, winter storms and disruption to communications have hampered the disaster agencies’ rescue and relief effort.  Following Turkey's call for international help, more than 141,000 people from 94 countries have joined the rescue effort.

On Sunday March 5, Ibiza’s yoga and wellbeing community will come together to host a fundraiser in San Carlos in support of Hand in Hand for Aid and Development (HiHFAD), a UK-registered charitable organisation that operates in northwest Syria and southern Turkey. The fundraiser has been organised by Kundadance practitioner Naomi Newlan and yoga teacher Kate Gardener. The all-day event will see some of Ibiza’s wellbeing luminaries offer their classes on a donation-only basis. The full schedule is listed below and more information can be found here
