To mark the launch of the new season, LOEWE Creative Director Jonathan Anderson masterminded a series of magical events in Ibiza. The weekend opened with a customised flea market and party at San Carlos’ hippy institution, Las Dalias, where island faces Igor Ramírez Garcia-Peralta, Raquel Sanchez and Inguna Butane danced beneath the stars. The following day, models Jeanne Cadeau, Amina Muaddi and Jahleel Weaver joined comedian Americana Ziwe and the actor Franco Masini for a beachfront lunch at Cala Bonita. The weekend’s festivities closed with supper at the newly opened Beach Caves at the Six Senses, as the sun set over Xarraca Bay.

‘Ibiza is the island of escapism; a parallel world where everything is possible,’ says Anderson. ‘Different generations have escaped here in a quest for personal freedom, making the identity of the place richly layered. Each summer LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza allows me to explore one of these layers. Right now, I am thinking of Ibiza as an endless party destination.’

The Paula’s story is the stuff of island legend. Opened in 1972 by Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick in Ibiza’s Dalt Vila, Paula’s became a cult classic, a store famed as much for its joyful clothes as for its decadent and hedonistic atmosphere. Decades later, LOEWE creative director Jonathan Anderson discovered vintage Paula’s pieces and the brand was reborn.

‘Hedonism has been on my mind a lot of late,’ Anderson tells L’Officiel Ibiza. ‘The fun, partying, moments spent together releasing good energies. This collection is sexy and liberated, with the carefree attitude that is quintessentially Ibiza. It gleams with the sparkle of sequins, skin peeking through short hems, lacing and cut outs. Everything is uncomplicated, cut close to the body, and easy to wear. Everything - literally everything - including tube dresses and tops, can be exchanged between men and women. This is the freedom Ibiza is all about.’
