This Friday 5th July we have a New Moon in Cancer. It&rsquo;s book-ended by a rare configuration of two back-to-back Full Moons in Capricorn one month apart.

The first took place on <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/an-extra-special-strawberry-full-moon-in-capricorn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">21 June</a> at 1 degrees Capricorn, just as the Sun entered the sign of Cancer at the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/soul-spirituality/summer-solstice-in-ibiza-2024-a-celebration-of-light-and-life" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Summer Solstice</a>.

The second is on 21st July at 29 degrees Capricorn. This second Full Moon will be more powerful than the first for three reasons:

 <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The 29th degree of any sign is called anaretic, where we find the most potent and concentrated energy of a sign, including the lowest frequency energies of it</li>
 <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The Full Moon will conjunct transformational Pluto, which excavates our darkest fears and need for control - bringing power plays, manipulation and secrets to the surface</li>
 <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The ruling planet of these Full Moons, Saturn, stationed retrograde this week where it will apparently spin backwards for 5 months providing us with a review period and for many, a stark reality check</li>
</ul>

Whenever a planet stations retrograde the symbolism is amplified and felt more strongly a few days before and after the station. With <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/how-to-plan-your-week-according-to-astrology-alicia-orre-ibiza" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saturn</a>, it may have required us to dig deep, find patience and discipline to progress with work projects. Barriers and blocks made moving forward and getting things completed more challenging. Saturn energy can feel heavy and burdensome, or there may be attempts from outside sources for authority and control. Capricorn is the sign of the mountain goat. For the days around Saturn&rsquo;s station retrograde you could have found that an area of your life felt like an uphill battle.

Saturn represents achievement, accountability, responsibility and mastery. Its five month retrograde means ours are now under review and scrutiny.

Saturn wants us to do the right thing, starting with ourselves.

If we have a dream in our heart that we&rsquo;re ignoring or stalling on, Saturn retrograde will make us pay.

Basically, don&rsquo;t f*ck with Saturn.

How realistic are our dreams? Because illusions are about to be shattered, resolve road-tested.

Do the right thing by Saturn - diligently working towards goals, applying patience and persistence, then Saturn will bestow the rewards in 5 months when it stations direct in November.

The other thing with Saturn is that it can bring up feelings of fear and guilt. The fear that we will not achieve what we want, that it is too difficult. Plus, the guilt that we are not trying hard enough, that we are not good enough, or that we should be further along towards our goals (or life in general) than we are.

Honestly, it can be a bit of a downer.

Thankfully, this <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/gemini-new-moon-june-2024-new-manifestation-cycle-begins" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Moon</a> in Cancer is the antidote.&nbsp;

It signifies a fresh start and new 28 day lunar cycle to set intentions and goals for the month ahead.

Cancer&rsquo;s planetary ruler is <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/natal-moon-sign-meaning-february-astrology-2024-ibiza-zodiac-alicia-orre" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Moon</a>, so the placement for this New Moon is cohesive and aligned.

Cancer energy is sensitive and emotional. The sign represents the mother, it is gentle and nurturing with a strong need for sanctuary. Somewhere to retreat safely into.&nbsp;

Cancer natives instinctively understand how to nurture, so this New Moon will bring this energy forward for all of us to dial into.&nbsp;

How can we be more compassionate and understanding of our journey?
What parts of ourselves can we give more tenderness and love?

Because underneath, and above all else, we are all doing the best we can.

Sometimes, it is not the relentless striving that will guarantee our achievements, as the Capricorn energy wants.

It is within the softness and stillness that we receive the answers we are looking for. In the silence that our intuition can be heard more clearly.

Cancer is the sign of intuition and instinct. During this time when Capricorn and Saturn energy is so potent and strong, we are reminded with this New Moon to take a break. To retreat back into the safety of our bodies - our home in this lifetime - to nurture it with healing foods, nature, rest and stillness. To find solace in our families - body or soul - and be guided by our inner compass to show us the way.
