New Moon in Sagittarius: Dreaming your big 2024 vision
This month we have a New Moon in Sagittarius on 13th December, infusing the next 28 days with the energy of optimism, faith and wisdom.
Forget about January 1st for setting your New Year’s resolutions, this is the day for your big 2024 visions!
With this New Moon we can dare to dream for the incoming 28 day lunar cycle, and the six-month period to the Full Moon in Sagittarius next May for our bigger intentions.
Sagittarius energy is on an eternal quest. It rules over learning, ambition, luck, long distance travel and the bigger picture. It is on a lifelong adventure in search of truth, purpose and meaning. Sagittarius is future-thinking, using the wisdom from past experience as the fuel to ignite our passionate visions. Set intentions on this New Moon and take aligned action over the next six months towards the corresponding Sagittarius Full Moon in next May for those visions to come to life.
This New Moon is in a square aspect to a recently direct motion Neptune, so we may feel confusion about the direction we are heading. Self doubt may be present about our dreams and ability to achieve them. We may recognise the need to finally let go, forgive and heal to release ourselves from a burdening situation.
It is not always necessary to communicate what is on our mind. Often it is powerful enough to release ourselves from the energetic bond with this letting go and forgiveness in order for the tension to dissipate, the chord to be cut and us to finally move on from what holds us back. With that letting go, it creates more energetic space to allow in what is truly meant for us and more aligned with our purpose.
Another aspect of this New Moon is the communication planet, Mercury square Jupiter - the ruling planet of Sagittarius. Mercury stations retrograde the day after this New Moon. There is tension here around our thoughts and communication, we need to find the balance between being delusional and belief - this adds to the foggy energy thanks to the Neptune square.
This is why this New Moon is a valuable time to quieten the mind chatter and sink into our hearts. Find quiet time and space over coming days to really listen to our intuition and heart’s desires so that we can let it lead us. Instead of the fear or uncertainty our rational mind may present to us.
When we over rationalise and apply logic, we can get lost and confused. We forget to believe the impossible dream, we get stuck in the ´how´ and lose our ability to trust in optimism and faith that anything is possible, if we only believe that we can have it.
