Six of the Best: Ibiza New Year’s Happenings

From soul-stirring exercise classes to eye-popping club nights, here’s our guide to where to be in Ibiza as the year changes shifts.

Alma Festival six senses Ibiza

To regenerate: Six Senses Ibiza, December 30th

They’re known for some of the north’s most beautiful parties, but a game-changing festive programme at the Six Senses Ibiza encourages guests to go deep within as they ring in the New Year. Cult LA workout The Class makes landfall on the 30th and the 2nd, with Class founder Taryn Toomey leading two extraordinary workshops. The Embodiment Class is a three-hour spirit, mind and body immersion on December 30 that opens with meditation and clearing, followed by an extended Class to purify bodies and hearts. Following that, leading astrologer and curator Rose Theodora will lead a deep astro talk and reading to honour the transition from 2022 to 2023.

To revive: The Standard, December 31st

It’s Ibiza Town’s hippest hangout and dinner at The Standard is always a good idea. Book ahead for supper on the 31st, where a glitzy and glammed-up crowd will share queen scallops and caviar in the glossy Jara restaurant while OG party starters Nightmares on Wax, Brothers Grim and Willie Graff turn up the heat.

To redefine: Sabina Ibiza, December 31st

The upscale eco-resort in the glorious south of the island is a magnet for the island’s haute-hippy crowd and is famed for its fearless and fantastical parties. The last night of the year won’t disappoint, with a New YOU’s Eve masquerade theme that invites guests to shed the masks of the last year and embrace 2023 with open arms.

To retreat: Akasha, December 31st

If lo-fi, northern village vibes are more your style, hit up San Carlos newbie Akasha, fresh from its first season as Ibiza’s hottest independent club. HOSH, Oriol Calvo and Sena are all slated to ring in the New Year in Las Dalias traditional spiritual, celebratory style.

To reboot: Pacha, December 31st

It’s Ibiza Town’s big ticket and Pacha has long been the islander’s club of choice for December 31st. This year sees Marco Carola’s technothon Music ON take the reins, with a seven-hour musical extravaganza featuring Carola playing b2b with long-time collaborator Andrea Oliva. One for the musical purists.

To reawaken: Amnesia, January 1st

Been to bed? Not been to bed? It won’t make any difference by the time you hit Amnesia’s dancefloor at 5pm. Promising a 12-hourt non-stop electronic festival, Amnesia has teamed up with Catalan party starters elRow to create a thrilling line-up that includes techno superstar Adam Beyer and a b2b set from Eats Everything and Marco Faraone. Expect costumes, confetti cannons and whole lot of wide-eyed club kids.

To retox: DC-10, January 1st

Will they? Won’t they? CircoLoco head honcho Antonio Carbonaro kept the crowds guessing this year, but a resounding yes in November meant a flurry of Europe-wide flights being booked. The iconic New Year’s Day party sees a heavyweight line-up from the likes of Dennis Cruz, Cassy and long-time Ibiza fave Tania Vulcano. This is the locals’ favourite rave of the year, so book ahead, take a disco nap, and get there early – there’ll be a roadblock from 5pm.
