A$AP Rocky Apologizes to Jumping Over Fan Pre Met Gala
The rapper went viral after being spotted trampling over a fan to get over a barricade next to his hotel.
For A$AP Rocky, his Met Gala 2023 headlines happened long before he made it to the red carpet. Hours before the 2023 Met Gala, in an attempt to hop over a barricade at New York City’s Carlyle Hotel, the rapper unintentionally uses the face of a nearby fan for momentum as he launched himself over the steel fence. The moment was captured in a now-viral video, supported by the fan, a woman named Maddy, tweeting "ASAP Rocky just literally jumped over me."
The jaw-dropping moment was met with lots of confusion and laughs as the internet questioned why he was behind the barricade in the first place instead of walking through the front entrance. After catching word of his actions, the rapper issued an apology to Maddy, tweeting "LOL MY FAULT $WEETHEART."
His actions were met lightheartedly by Maddy as the rapper followed her on Twitter and she responded to his apology tweeting, "I'm printing this on a T-shirt." In the Twitter chain, Maddy recalls the events that happened stating she felt someone tap her on the shoulder and saying "I need to get through." Not knowing it was A$AP, she responded "no" and was unexpectedly shoved, later realizing it was A$AP jumping over her.
Hours later the rapper made the headlines once again, though this time it was for his fashion alongside his wife, Rihanna. The couple showed up fashionably late where A$AP donned custom Gucci that was an homage to Karl Lagerfeld's signature black suit. Rihanna stunned the crowd as she opted for a custom Valentino gown that paid tribute to Lagerfeld's eye for bridalwear.
