Despite posting a member introduction video less than 24 hours ago, rookie group BABY MONSTER&#39;s YouTube channel has received 2.16 million subscribers. This is YG&#39;s first girl group after about 7 years since the debut of BLACKPINK.

At 0:00 on May 12 (KST), YG officially announced 5 faces who will debut as members of the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/omg-newjeans-has-finally-been-appointed-as-levi-s-global-ambassadors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">group</a> BABY MONSTER, which are Ahyeon (born in 2007, Korea), Ruka (born in 2002, Japan), Chiquita (born in 2009, Thailand), Haram (born in 2007, Korea) and Pharita (born in 2005, Thailand).
However, in the last moments, former president Yang announced his decision to debut all 7 members including Rora (Korea) and Asa (Japan). He said the decision came from fans' expectations. BABY MONSTER is a multi-national rookie girl group launched by YG company after about 7 years since the debut of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/music/blackpink-announced-comeback-with-world-tour-and-album" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BLACKPINK</a>.

As BLACKPINK continues to lead the K-pop world as a top global group, BABY MONSTER has garnered attention as the most anticipated debut of 2023, aided by promotional strategies. YG's active promotion such as releasing performance videos and producing reality shows. Currently, BABY MONSTER's <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/luke-meagher-youtube-s-fashion-critic-nr-1-on-the-trail-of-the-emperor-new-clothes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">YouTube</a> channel has received more than 2 million subscribers.
With members from Korea (Ahyeon, Haram, Lora), Thailand (Parita, Chikita) and Japan (Ruka, Asa), the multinational composition further heightens expectations. This proves YG's investment to hit the global market, as well as develop more cultural elements, like BLACKPINK's success in the Thai music market.
