The Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition arrives in Seoul from April 19 to July 13, 2025, offering an immersive journey through the history of the House of Dior and its passion for art, fashion, and culture.
After enchanting visitors in Paris, London, Shanghai, Chengdu, New York, Doha, Tokyo and Riyadh, the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition continues its global journey and now makes a stopover in Seoul . From April 19 to July 13, 2025, the iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza , in the heart of the South Korean capital, will host this unmissable event. This new chapter of the exhibition, carefully orchestrated by curator Florence Müller, celebrates more than seventy-five years of effervescent creativity, retracing the fascinating history of the House of Dior through an immersive scenographic journey, masterfully designed by architect Shohei Shigematsu, of the prestigious OMA firm.
This spectacular odyssey unveils the history of Dior , from its origins to the present day, including the iconic New Look and the designer's contemporary reinterpretations. Through a unique staging, the exhibition immerses visitors in the world of Christian Dior, somewhere between dream and reality , where every detail tells the story of the designer's love of flowers and gardens, the excellence of the Ateliers, and his passion for the balls and sumptuous parties that marked his era.
A journey where the elegance of the past meets the modernity of current creation , enhanced by an exceptional collection of haute couture models and rare archival documents, which harmoniously dialogue with the works of essential Korean artists. Talents such as HyunJoo Kim, Soo Sunny Park and Zadie Xa bring a new perspective, enriching this celebration of the House of the creative and contemporary energy of the Korean art scene.
One of the special features of this stopover in Seoul is the exhibition of the Lady Dior , the House's iconic bag. For the first time, this object of desire is revisited by major figures from the Korean art scene, through two flagship projects: Dior Lady Art and Lady Dior As Seen By . These reinterpretations, nine of which are from the Dior Lady Art project and seventeen from the Lady Dior As Seen By concept, enrich this exploration of the powerful ties forged between Dior and Korea. Fascinating alliances that reveal a dialogue between tradition and modernity, and which underline the mutual attachment between the House and this multifaceted country.
Throughout the rooms, the exhibition also pays tribute to the art of perfume , another passion dear to Christian Dior. Precious bottles, iconic portraits and memorable objects mingle with the dresses worn by the ambassadors of the House's most emblematic fragrances, such as Rihanna for J'adore or Natalie Portman for Miss Dior .
