Manolo Blahnik commemorates art and artisans by introducing a new virtual space, "The Manolo Blahnik Archives, The Craft," accessible to everyone in the house's digital archives.
Have you always dreamed of entering the wonderful world of Manolo Blahnik? It's now possible thanks to The Craft virtual experience. The fruit of decades of craftsmanship, know-how and family values, these virtual archives explore the art behind the renowned shoe designer's men's and women's collections. "I am thrilled to introduce the Craft Room to our virtual archives, a place to celebrate more than 50 decades of my uncle's illustrious career. I have been passionate about developing this digital space for many years. Before visiting the different virtual rooms, the experience opens with a replica of Mr. Blahnik's office - which serves as a reference point to access the other rooms in the world of Manolo Blahnik. Visitors can experience the creation of a shoe and browse hundreds of elements, giving an unparalleled insight into the craft of luxury shoe making. From sketch to final product, we explore with delight the underside of our favourite shoes: construction, typologies, technique, functional and decorative elements - including embroidery, beading, patchwork, appliques, buckles, fringes and, one of our favorites, the pompoms — materials, manufacturing, but also men's section — Mr. Blahnik having started his career creating shoes for his closest friends, including David Hockney , David Bailey and Mick Jagger .
