35 Years of Legacy: DKNY's Anniversary Autumn 2024 Collection Campaign

DKNY has unveiled its Autumn 2024 women’s collection DKNY est. 1989, an easy-to-wear wardrobe that celebrates the brand’s heritage, with a new campaign starring Kaia Gerber.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the New York brand and to celebrate this milestone, DKNY has presented the DKNY est. 1989 collection, a dynamic wardrobe that combines the urban style of Gen-Z with the American elegance of the brand. An anniversary that undoubtedly celebrates the legacy of the brand founded by Donna Karan in New York in 1989 and acquired by the G-III group in 2016. The looks of the collection are inspired by the archives of the past with a strong New York attitude: tailored coats, cropped puffer jackets, bomber jackets with a street character, jersey dresses, pleated skirts, knitwear sweaters featuring the logo; all accessorized with leather and nylon bags with metallic details, leather combat boots and versatile and elegant loafers.

Among the materials, denim stands out with a utilitarian approach, cotton poplin, virgin wool and cashmere perfect for the cold season, velvets and satins that give a sophisticated touch to the collection. Among the details of the collection to highlight are the sparkling sequins that give a touch of glamour to the DKNY est. 1989 Autumn 2024 collection , bold but controlled transparencies and metallic threads that enrich the sartorial selection. An easy-to-wear wardrobe perfect for transforming the street into a catwalk every day.

For the 35th anniversary DKNY will bring the American style and heritage of Donna Karan to the fashion capitals throughout the season and for the Autumn 2024 campaign they reconfirm the presence of model Kaia Gerber as the face of the brand and representative of its Gen-Z. The campaign set in NYC and shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Alastair McKimm, best expresses the essence of the brand with references to metropolitan culture from literature to music: from quotes from " Just Kids" by Patti Smith , " The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald and " Bright Lights, Big City" by Jay McInerney.  

Kaia, who is an avid reader and bookworm, has brought together a vibrant and growing community through her online Book Club.” So, the campaign concept was an inspiring opportunity to authentically connect DKNY’s love of all things New York with Kaia’s love of literature,” Trey Laird, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Team Laird.
