Dsquared2, Rocco Siffredi on the catwalk for spring summer 2024
The Dsquared2 spring summer 2024 fashion show at Milan Fashion Week ignited souls and not only...
Shameless, vaporous, seductive. The twins Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared2 , amid the moans of "Love To Love You Baby" by Donna Summer, sent on the catwalk - at the end of the first day of Milan Fashion Week - the king of the most audacious genre among those that form the seventh art. Yes, it was really him, Rocco Siffredi, and with him he paraded all the aesthetic imagery that is part of that world. A little preppy, a little lascivious. Part Playmate, part Tom of Finland. The DSquared2 spring summer 2024 man (and woman) catapulted us into a dream that we would never want to end. Icing on the cake? The arrogant catwalk of the 90s supermodel Esther Cañadas who closed a hypnotic fashion show.
"In Palm Beach, the country club bourgeois enter the world of adult cinema." A mix of preppy essentials and bold details: the Dsquared2 collection which also incorporates archive looks as well as bringing to the catwalk all the imagery of Rocco Siffredi's cinema, draws elements from that of tennis clubs, creating an ensemble deliberately desecrating bourgeois aesthetics.
But let's get to the details of this spring summer 2024 collection. The Rolling Stones' iconic tongue finds a new dimension in a women's beaded top and a men's vertical cut tank top. Denim is presented in its boldest and purest form. The women's low-rise jeans are cut below the waistband and across the thighs (and sport a mesh of resin rings); the mens, faded and treated, have a zip on the back that reveals the underwear - a cut inspired by the Dsquared2 jeans of the 2000s. Retro floral prints colour the men's underwear sets. The boys carry shiny tennis bags and duffel bags with sports-style graphics. The ultimate mash-up? The men's tie fabric used to create a women's miniskirt.
