Louis Vuitton: hyperbole of details and the spring summer 2023 fashion show
Nicolas Ghesquière brings an encouragement to boldness to the Cour Carrée of the Louvre .
LOUIS VUITTON SPRING SUMMER 2023 SHOW AT THE PARIS FASHION WEEK
At the Cour Carrée of the Louvre stands a set imagined by the contemporary artist Philippe Parreno together with the product designer James Chinlund . An environmental work entitled "monster-flower" that blooms in the square, a circular walkway that runs alongside the structure, complete with intermittent lighting devices (a trademark of the contemporary French artist) and mirrors. All Nicola Ghesquière 's attention shifts to details, design elements that have defined the heritage of Louis Vuitton becoming an integral part of the story. The new spring / summer 2023 creations parade on the catwalk, a stylistic exercise that develops around the concept of a magnification scale that involves small details such as zips, buttons, buckles, trunks, bows and belts that doventano in macro version. But the play of proportions also persists on the clothing itself: maxi cardigans, dresses that recall an enlarged detail of a zip, mini dresses supported by two bold version carabiners or oversized coats with extra-large press studs. A collection that shifts the point of view on detail, distorting its dimensions. Go Big or Go Home.
