Kering and Bottega Veneta announce Louise Trotter as the new creative director of Bottega Veneta. Meet the British designer and former creative director of Carven and Lacoste.

Universally acclaimed for her ability to express and enhance the heritage of the house with her contemporary vision and artisanal approach, Louise Trotter has been appointed by Kering as Creative Director of Bottega Veneta . "I am deeply honored to join Bottega Veneta as Creative Director," says Louise Trotter in the press release announcing the announcement, "The strong artistic heritage of the House, combined with the constant propensity for innovation, represent an incredible source of inspiration, and I am flattered to be able to contribute to writing the future and celebrating the timeless vision of the brand." In the official press release, Bottega Veneta expresses its utmost gratitude and a successful future for the Belgian designer Matthieu Blazy. And after Laura Braggion, Tomas Maier, Daniel Lee and Matthieu Blazy, the French designer has taken on the role of Creative Director starting in January 2025.

Who is Louise Trotter, the new creative director of Bottega Veneta?

Born in Sunderland in 1969, after studying fashion design at Newcastle University, Louise Trotter worked at Whistles before moving to the USA to work at   Calvin Klein , Gap and Tommy Hilfiger . Returning to London she worked for a period at Jigsaw , then took over the reins of Joseph 's style for 9 years, and her last experience was 4 years at Lacoste where «has explored the innovative methods of upcycling» as she revealed this year in an interview with L'OFFICIEL. The British designer Louise Trotter continued her journey by expanding the success of the French brand Carven by becoming the brand’s first female creative director (after the founder) who has revived the French Maison that had been dormant since Serge Ruffieux’s last creative direction in 2018. Passionate about art, her aesthetic language is smart, understated, “less is more” with some artisanal additions that define her creative direction.
