Prada Re-Nylon: icons in the spotlight
Prada commemorates a unique turning point in its creative journey, 1978, when the arrival of its legendary range of nylon accessories forever changed the language of fashion.
When we think of Prada , nylon accessories immediately come to mind, the trend of which has not changed for several decades. Having become true icons, the Italian Maison's Re-Nylon products are on display today — and until February 25 — at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann with fifteen windows and three pop-up stores, one for men and two for the woman. There is an ultra desirable range including reissues of design pieces from the period. But also, a series of iconic models - from Re-Nylon bags and accessories for women adorned with Saffiano leather details and the enameled metal triangular logo, which come in a myriad of shapes and functions, from totes to from backpacks to sports bags and shoulder bags. The colours range from classic black and midnight blue to cork beige and camel, or even pastel shades for bucket hats and small leather goods accessories. For men, multi-pocket backpacks and fanny packs sit alongside roomy duffles, rolling bags, soft-sided suitcases, trunks and hardside suitcases, all in pure black, with only occasional concessions to one elegant tundra green hue. Baseball caps and bucket hats, small accessories and clothing follow the same themes.
This exclusive selection takes place in the characteristic Prada niche of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann , decorated with backlit images of Albert Watson, while a black and white checkered marble floor evokes the very first Prada boutique at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II In Milan. An event not to be missed, both for its exceptional installation and for a necessary shopping session.
On view until February 25 at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann.
