Deconstructed fashion from Sacai at Paris Fashion Week
Inspired by the statement of the famous photographer and fashion historian Bill Cunningham, "Fashion is the armour that allows us to survive the reality of daily life", Sacai designer Chitose Abe, imagines fashion in the style of emotional armour.
"Designer Chitose Abe takes hybridization to its climax with a collection that draws on the idea of a dress and questions what a dress can be. One-piece clothing is explored, with jackets and coats presented as dresses, with underwear and shirts attached to the outer garment, and an ambition for ease of dressing, from morning to evening. The notion is expanded with long boots which appear to be pants when viewed from the front. Chitose Abe presents her collection with the aim of maximizing the notion of hybrid, which has been at the heart of her vision for Sacai since the beginning, by telling a different story from every angle of the movement and always celebrating strength and beauty." as the show press release explained to us.
