Sweater trends to stay stylish and cosy in the New Year

Warm, comfortable and stylish through the winter? This is only possible with the perfect sweater! We present the 4 sweater trends for a cosy start to the new year.

Baggy and oversized remains

We've been seeing this trend for a few years now and it's not going away any time soon - it's exactly what we need on a stormy winter day. You don't have to squeeze yourself into anything and you have a lot of freedom of movement. Also very practical: you can wear something underneath when you're oversized - for the perfect onion look. Especially with heavy fabrics or thick knits, a cut like this gives the piece a lot of shape.

You can combine it with almost anything in your wardrobe: wide or tight trousers for a casual look or with a maxi skirt and a nice pair of boots for a slightly more chic outfit.

Zip-up sweater

Zippers, whether full-length or just on the collar, are adorning more and more sweaters, creating a special detail that turns a rather simple piece into something special. On the one hand, it's super practical because you can wear it open like a cardigan, or you can close it up, which gives you an interesting detail. You can also shape the collar however you want and wear many different looks with one piece.

Over The Shoulder

If you want to wear a “sexy sweater” and showcase your femininity, the over the shoulder trend is perfect. This little detail of the open collarbone and shoulders looks super feminine and is the perfect mix between showing skin and not showing skin - sometimes less is more. The cut is available in all variations: tight or wide and also in different materials, depending on your taste.

The colour red

Already in autumn we saw red and especially as cherry red everywhere: in tights, socks, bags, coats, scarves, etc., sweaters are not excluded either. They are the perfect way to bring colour into the dreary and grey winter. It would be particularly stylish to use the colour in other pieces so that the sweater alone doesn't catch the eye so much and the overall picture is balanced.
